Section 01

Overview

Aveka is a technology infrastructure platform operated by Markingo Portal LLC, a company registered with the Department of Economic Development, Dubai, UAE (License No. 1308533). Aveka uses artificial intelligence (AI) to support but not replace human and institutional decision-making across its three core service lines: student financing facilitation, KYC and identity verification, and mock interview preparation.

This policy explains, in plain language, where AI is used, what it does and does not decide, how AI-assisted outputs are reviewed, and what rights you have in relation to AI-influenced processes. It is addressed to students, universities, lending partners, and any individual whose data is processed through the Aveka platform.

Aveka does not make final lending, credit, or financial decisions. All loan approvals, rejections, interest rates, and disbursement conditions are determined exclusively by regulated financial institution partners. AI tools on the Aveka platform support workflow efficiency they do not underwrite, approve, or decline any financing application.

Section 02

Where AI Is Used on the Platform

Aveka uses AI and automated logic across three functional areas. Each is described below with clear disclosure of what the AI does, its role (advisory vs. operational), and the human review process that accompanies it.

KYC & Identity Verification

AI tools assist in cross-referencing identity documents, flagging anomalies in academic transcripts, screening against sanctions lists (PEP/AML), and producing a structured verification report. The AI does not issue a pass or fail it produces a risk-scored report reviewed by a human compliance analyst or the university's designated officer before any determination is communicated.

AI-assisted Human reviewed

Lender Matching Engine

A rule-based and machine-learning-assisted algorithm matches student applicants to lender products based on nationality, programme of study, fee amount, credit profile signals, and lender eligibility criteria. Lenders configure their own matching rules within the platform. The output is a ranked shortlist of potentially eligible lenders no lender is selected without either platform-configured lender rules or explicit lender review.

AI-assisted Lender decides

Mock Interview Preparation

Aveka's mock interview feature uses a large language model (AI) to conduct simulated university admission or visa interviews. The AI generates interview questions, evaluates responses in real time, and produces a feedback report covering communication clarity, content quality, and areas for improvement. These sessions are conducted entirely by AI there is no human interviewer present. This is disclosed to students before every session begins.

AI-conducted Feedback only

Portfolio Analytics & Risk Alerts

For university and lender dashboards, AI-assisted analytics identify repayment anomalies, flag at-risk cases, and generate cohort-level performance summaries. These are operational intelligence tools for institutional users and do not generate automated actions against individual borrowers without human review.

Institutional use only

Section 03

What AI Decides vs. What Humans Decide

The table below clearly separates AI-assisted functions from decisions that are exclusively made by humans or regulated institutions.

AI Supports or Recommends
  • Ranking lenders by likely eligibility match
  • Flagging document anomalies for human review
  • Generating interview questions and scoring responses
  • Producing KYC risk-score reports
  • Automating document collection follow-ups
  • Summarising portfolio performance for dashboards
  • Identifying potentially at-risk repayment cases
AI Never Decides Alone
  • Loan approval, rejection, or conditional sanction
  • Interest rate, tenure, or repayment terms
  • Final KYC pass or fail determination
  • Student admission or enrolment status
  • Visa recommendation or application outcome
  • Debt collection or enforcement action
  • Disbursement release to university or student

If you believe an AI-assisted output has adversely affected you or produced an incorrect result, you have the right to request human review. See Section 8 Your Rights for how to make this request.

Section 04

Mock Interviews AI Disclosure

Aveka's mock interview service is designed to help students prepare for university admission interviews and visa interviews. It is a preparation and practice tool only it is not used in any actual admission, visa, or funding decision.

What the AI does

An AI language model conducts the session by asking structured interview questions relevant to the student's course and destination country. The AI evaluates responses based on fluency, relevance, structure, and completeness, and produces a written feedback report at the end of each session.

There are no human interviewers

Mock interview sessions on the Aveka platform are conducted entirely by artificial intelligence. No human interviewer listens to, transcribes, or reviews session content in real time. Students are informed of this before every session via an on-screen disclosure prompt that requires active acknowledgement before the session begins.

How scores and feedback are used

Mock interview scores and feedback reports are shared with the student and, where a university has enabled this feature, with the university's student support team to inform coaching and preparation support. Scores are not shared with lenders, visa authorities, or admission committees. They have no bearing on loan eligibility, approval, or any financial determination.

Limitations of AI interview assessment

AI-based interview evaluation has known limitations. It cannot fully assess cultural nuance, nervousness, or non-verbal communication. Feedback should be treated as indicative guidance, not a definitive assessment of a student's ability or potential. Students are encouraged to supplement AI mock interview practice with human coaching where available.

Section 05

KYC & Identity Verification

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification on the Aveka platform is conducted in partnership with regulated third-party identity verification providers. These providers use AI-assisted tools to authenticate government-issued documents, perform biometric matching, screen against sanctions and PEP (politically exposed persons) databases, and validate academic and professional credentials.

Who performs verification

Aveka does not conduct KYC in isolation. Verification is performed by or in conjunction with regulated KYC providers whose identity and data processing practices are disclosed in our Privacy Policy. The identity of specific KYC partners used for a given application can be requested from tech@aveka.ai.

What data is used

KYC processes use identity documents (passport, national ID), biometric data (photograph for liveness checking), academic transcripts, and financial supporting documents submitted by the student. Data is transmitted to KYC providers under encrypted, purpose-limited data sharing agreements. Student consent is obtained prior to data submission to any third-party KYC provider.

How outputs are reviewed

AI-generated KYC outputs are reviewed by a human compliance analyst or the university's designated compliance officer before any verification result is communicated. Students have the right to contest a verification outcome see Section 8.

Section 06

Lender Matching Engine

The Aveka lender matching engine uses rule-based logic and pattern-matching algorithms to rank which partner lenders are most likely to consider a student's financing application eligible, based on criteria configured by the lenders themselves.

How matching works

Lenders configure their own eligibility criteria within the platform including country of origin, programme type, institution, loan amount range, and other credit signals. The platform applies these rules to incoming applications and produces a ranked output of potentially eligible lenders. No lender is contacted on a student's behalf without explicit authorisation from the student or their university.

What the engine does not do

The matching engine does not make credit decisions, assess creditworthiness, access external credit bureau data independently, or guarantee that a matched lender will approve an application. All credit assessment is carried out by the lender under their own regulatory obligations.

Contesting a matching outcome

If a student believes they have been incorrectly excluded from lender matching, they may raise this with their university's Aveka-linked advisor or contact us directly at tech@aveka.ai. Matching logic for a specific application can be reviewed upon request.

Section 07

Data & AI Model Training

Personal data submitted through the Aveka platform including student identity documents, financial records, interview session recordings or transcripts, and application data is not used to train AI models without explicit, separate, and freely given consent.

Where Aveka uses third-party AI model providers (including large language model APIs) to power features such as mock interviews or document summarisation, data is processed under data processing agreements that restrict the provider from using submitted data for model training purposes.

Anonymised, aggregated, and non-identifiable platform usage data may be used internally to improve matching logic, workflow efficiency, and platform performance. This does not constitute processing of personal data.

Section 08

Your Rights in Relation to AI
